Off the bat, it's nice that the repeated use of the word cat in this article has caused google adwords to put a nice kitty up there LOL! At least that's what was served when this page first loaded for me.
People yell at me when I compare being adopted to adopting a cat or a dog, but I can't help it. It's how I feel sometimes. Also the fact that the first trip to a pet store was used as a "learning experience" in adoption, so me and my Puggy are forever entwined in my head at the word adoption.
Going back to the article though, I do feel that the emotional needs of adopted pets take a bigger priority in some people than the emotional needs of adopted infants. I remember my Puggy howling at night when we first got him, and being told that was because he missed his mommy. It was OK for Puggy to miss his mommy, but not ok for me.
