As far as I am concerned, you ain't lite if you done lost yo' momma.

If you lost the woman with whom you had your primal connection, you're an adoptee. Word.

I think adoptee lite should be.... I don't know....sperm donor conceived peeps? What do you think?  Afro What the funk do I know anyway  Wink

Oh yes, even as adoptee lite, I totally suck at relationships> Just ask my husband.

I lost my mother. My very first, all bloody important relationship. All others are bound to **** up and suffer after that one went to hell. Well ****. I am not sure even what love is???

WHAT IS IT, goddammit?!  Lips Sealed

I used to call myself a grandoptee or grandopted before SofA dubbed me an adoptee-lite. I dont call myself an adoptee because there are many levels of adopteehood that I did not experience. I have my records. I did have a bio connection to the people I was with. I did have my family tree. But yeah, like Sarah said, I got a HUGE dose of being an adoptee from the fact that my mom left and took her entire side of the family with her.

Is there a place for, "I found my first parent and they're dead"?
It happened to me.  My first dad died four years ago.  :(
I'd really appreciate a place to talk about this.
Thanks.

Hey THANKS!  I appreciate "Adoptees in Love."  That's like for dating & marriage & divorce & stuff?  How about other relationships, though - like with friends and other non-romantic peeps?

Were you wanting some where to post media stories, or a place for links to different media outlets?

We do have a "News and Views" section.  It isn't specifically about stories related to adoption, but they would be welcome there.
