If you have Blogger and want to keep unwanted people off your blog, this will help.
This site here
http://ip.toolshell.com/ban.phpWill generate a little java applet that you can put into the HTML of you template. Enter the IP address of the offending snooping party, choose a URL you want to send them to, select a button for the logo, and voila! If someone with the IP address tries to come to your site, they will be redirected elsewhere. Depending on who it is that is snooping, the fun of where to send them to is limitless. For kindness, you could send them to google. For real nasty people, a website of crime scene photos or a horrible **** site with countless popup windows works well.
Just bear in mind that IP addresses change frequently. If someone's on cable modem the IP lease is usually a week; people on dialup will probably get a new IP address each time. I tested this on my own backup blogger blog by banning my own IP address and it worked really fast. I'm not sure if you can ban an entire block of addresses, you may want to test that. Like if someone's IP address is, say, 20.300.1.5 you could test it and enter 20.300.1.# and see if that works.
Also if they are reading you in a reader; or know how to use an IP proxy, then it won't work. They'll still be able to see what you write. For total privacy you'll need to go to a private blog, but this may help a little.
If you're on Wordpress, I don't know if you have the option of adding custom HTML to your template. Does anyone know?
And don't ban meeeeeeeeee!!!!!
