I tried adding to the other thread but it didn't work so I'm trying my own.  Let's see how this works.

Issues invited me but I don't know what she is going by here  - hi Issues!    I'm Jennifer.  I'm an adult adoptee, 36, mother to one beautiful 10 year old daughter, married and the caregiver to multiple animals including one siamese cat.  That seemed important so I wanted to include it.   Cheesy

I am a veteran of the adoption message boards from Adoption Insights to Anti-Adoption Insights to The Adopted.  Over the years I have had the opportunity to connect with my own people and look forward to meeting new ones!

The Siamese cat thing IS important, as quite a few others here have siamese cats! You weren't born in April, were you? We got a lotta that going on here, too.

WELCOME!

It wasn't until I met all of you that I learned all adoptees are left handed, born in april and have siamese cats. I'm an adoptee lite so I only have the siamese cat part. Then again, my adopted kids aren't born in april either....but at least Mia is left handed (don't know about Qi yet) and they will have a siamese cat. 'hmm

Now now - not all of us. Although I'm a lefty - no Siamese - a tortie and an all black kitty - both abandoned. Geez, I have to confess I changed their names too. Don't know whether the shelter named them or their prior owners but the one was named Bear - Bear - a cat named Bear - WTF?

And no April bday for me - Nov - I was a valentine's day conception - shame the love didn't last.

Eh, two out of three will do. I don't have a siamese cat. Just the lefty April thing.

I think if we probed deep enough we'd find out that we all also have second sight.   Wink  I know I do.

Dory you renamed your adopted pets?! How could you, you evil adopter.  Evil

I know, people are always telling me not all adoptees feel like me, which is obviously not true as all adoptees are born in April, all adoptees are left handed and all adoptees have Siamese cats.

Wait, I am right handed

Oh this is all so confusing

I made a whiny post about my Siamese cat and then deleted it 'cause it ended up on the wrong thread.  Anyway, I had a Siamese cat before Leo.  And I was born in April.  I came very close to being left-handed this past year, too.  I have second sight, Stewie.  Wouldn't surprise me if it's common among adoptees.  How many times have we all said "I saw THAT coming!"?

Oh yeah I forgot to mention you also live in a craftsman / arts and crafts / bungalow style house from the early twentieth century if you are an adoptee.

We adoptees have an excellent asthetic taste for the decorative arts.  Cool

My finances don't permit it, Stewie, but that is EXACTLY where I live in my mind!!!  Come to think of it, the inside of my apartment looks exactly like that's where it belongs.

Okay now this is starting to creep me out.

I know I know, shame on me. I did buy them a 3 story kitty condo which they can lounge in by the deck and look down at the pool. They really are happy. +MODERATED+ My best friends mothers sister has a cat from the pound and he is very well adjusted.
