Uh, yeh, go get it and open it up.

I'm way to paranoid for that kind of stuff - I'd call the cops and have them take care of it - of course they'll probably shut the highway down for hours so make sure you're where you need to be first.

Ok.  DD and I are going to go sit by the lake and eat our happy meals, then go to DQ for ice cream.  If it's still there on the way home, I'm getting it.   Hope it's fulla cash.

Okay never mind.  When I drove by again it was gone.  I guess someone else got my fortune in dirty drug money.

Damn you shoulda got it, it was probably full of sealed birth records that an adoption agency was trying to dispose of after telling a few people who had called hoping to get theirs that...... "those were destroyed in a fire"

Once when I was at school we went for a walk to the local river and while there we found a briefcase. It had papers and jewellry in in (very nice jewellry), turns out someone had broken into a lawyers car and stolen it. I always had my suspicions about said lawyer....who leaves suitcase with jewellry in it in a car overnnight?? I think he was after insurance money....

Once my husband snagged a camera in an A&P parkinglot - it was a fab Canon fancy camera...and we took it home...and I felt bad...but we had the film developed (I thought I'd post a pic in the A&P saying "we have your camera") and it was a bunch of punks...so we kept the camera. They didn't deserve to ahve it back.

Long story short...somewhere along the way WE lost that camera, too...someone else has OUR pics now.  Undecided

Too bad about the briefcase....probably birth certs...

I will soon be posting a thread about "What to do when you have other adoptees records in your reach but don't know if you should disseminate them" ....stay tuned...

OMFG!  Too Brilliant!  I would laugh if the idea weren't so tragic.
