Hi everyone,

Per my typical fashion of always being late and ever the procrastinator - I thought it was high time to finally say a formal hello.  I'm Paula, a Korean adoptee, who was adopted at the age of 6 months.  I've recently started the search for my Korean parents, and I'm hoping to return to Korea next summer to advance the efforts of my search.

My husband and I have two children, a daughter who is 5 and a son, also born in Korea, who is now 2 1/2 years old and was adopted at the age of 8 months.

I'm smiling at all of the icons right now that are vying for my attention.  They are extremely colorful!

Thanks for having me.  Looking forward to getting to know everyone better.

Cheers!  Smiley

Hi!

Welcome Paula!

We have the smilies here and know how to use them.

I imagine searching is really tough in Korea.  Do you have many resources available?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!  Dang, it feels good!

Thanks for asking about my search, Addie.  Basically, my best shot is to go to Korea and spend the time necessary there to do a full-on media blitz - radio, TV, newspapers.  There are some awesome resources for us Korean adoptees (KADs) in Seoul like GOA'L that can help organize and facilitate a search like mine.  Having literally nothing to go on makes it so hard - I do have a few referral pics, but that's it - so what I'm hoping is that someone will recognize me as an infant and make contact.  It's hard because I don't even know if I was born in a hospital or even in Seoul (which is what my birth certificate says, but who really knows!) - even my birthdate is a best-guess by the dr. who first saw me after I was found and brought to the orphanage.  So, well see.  It's one of those things: expect the worst, but hope for the best.

Ohmygosh - these icons are cracking me up.     (Gotta love those Nuks)
