So its 1:08pm ( and even later for some on the east coast and overseas ) can I ask a question since nobody else has?
What does your phone book list under pregnancy? I'm cross posting this too btw.
I live in a small town so theres only one listing in ours. Of course, its an adoption agency. Not only that but its so **** misleading i can't even begin to tell you!!!
its called "life choices pregnancy clinic of ( my city )" free pregnancy test-ultrasound-24 hour hotline-information TOTALLY CONFIDENTIAL. And then it lists a website and number. so i go to the webiste, thinking oh look there really ARE some people out there who want to help. No, i was wrong, first line... is now not a convenient time to have a baby?
who the **** are they to call a baby an inconvenience. I specifically know of this place and they are a "christian" place thats pro life, so they of course push adoption.
I was curious whats listed in other phone books around the country? If anyone has a few minutes and are bored feel free to chime in...

Planned Parenthood in my book. That's it.
So, that good and bad. They are pro-choice, but they are pro-closed records too. At least somebody could get something like real help there, without Jesus telling them what to do.

Bethany Christian Services, Birthright, Catholic Charities, New Life Family Services, and -- County Public Health. Looks like they're all adoption pushers.

Funny, I then looked up Adoption and there were about a dozen listed. Then I looked up Parenting and there was only one little ad for early childhood education.

My header says "Pregnancy Information and Referral Services" and lists Birthright, Planned Parenthood and "Pregnancy Care Center" which I am about to go see what is.... At least there aren't any adoption agency ads... WOW...and then under "abortion providers" Birthright is listed again....that's a pro-life agency, but they're pretty good in my area, they give out free baby clothes and toys and formula and diapers to help women parent. They probably also do adoption pushing but my mom was a director over there (big suprise) and I don't think many women placed. Maybe they said "I'm not giving my baby to a Stepford Nutter like YOU!"

Okay - I looked under adoption - blech. The first agency listed is: Mother Goose Adoptions WTF? So I looked at their website. They are in Florida!!!! I'm in Kansas. Gee - nothing like that great old aparent friendly state advertising in other states yellow pages - and the first one listed nonetheless. There's approx. 30+ listed. One is called Adoption & Beyond. Beyond what? ? God - look at their website: http://adoption-beyond.org/And then there is this place: http://lighthousekc.org/At my last support group meeting here one of the members was talking about a court case that's been going on for over a year with this place. They coerced a baby from a young unmarried born again christian woman by taking her to some church and doing a proficy (sp?) for the child - telling her to name him Moses and to send him in a basket to a deserving married couple who will fulfill his destination in life. Yeh, well, she fell for it but soon after changed her mind and the father - who never signed his rights away has been fighthing it too - but it seems Missouri is very very very aparent friendly.
