Any of you guys interested in a section of the forum about adoptees as parents? I know many of us have posted on how our experiences as adopted persons have influenced our own kids.

Let me know and we can put it here. I am about to go up and cuddle with my five year old in my bed and be so happy to have her close to me...

Okay, Stewie, now I'm jealous!  Yes.  Have two teenage girls.  One (16) is at a movie w/girlfriends and my 14-year old is at a parent chaperoned party and it's really RIPPIN' and I'm TRYING not be be controlling and giving her some independence while also trying to be responsible.  And I swear, I think that's a GREAT idea.

I would Stewie. I've got four grown kids and it's pretty obvious I've passed on at least some of my issues, unknowingly back then when they were growing up. An adoptee friend told me her therapist told her it takes 5 generations to (don't hit me)  Azn her words, not mine..."get over" an adoption in the family. I think I can see how that may be so.

I think I can, too.  Look, it's taking US one whole lifetime to deal with it, and I don't see myself getting past it all by the time I die.  Anyone else?

I worry so much about the stress I'm am causing the kids - all because of my bloody adoption experience.

It's certainly an issue I think of often - and somewhere to share that would be great.
No Julie - I can't see that I'll ever 'getting over' this crap.
