Hi everyone....

I'm Sandy,  first mom to a son who will be 30 years old in June.

I'm here because I missed so many of the adoptees here (who probably have no idea how much I learned from them or even who I am).

Thanks so much for allowing me to join.

Hey I know exactly who you are

Good to see you

Hi everyone--
I've been lurking since you've been up and running--thought I'd at least say hello.  I'm an a-mom hoping to do things as right as I can with my little one who is 13  1/2 mos, but know he's going to need me to be ready to answer questions, respond to and support him all the way down the line.  I've been learning lots about all sides of adoption lately, and am opening my eyes to your viewpoints many of which I hadn't considered before, and hope for the sake of my little guy that from time to time you'll be willing to guide me along the way.  Happy Friday!

Oh, and I like this site cause it has the best smilies! (there truly are some naughty ones, arent' there?)

Hi everyone.

I'm Nicole, aka Paragraphein, aka 79nic, aka... whatever.

Natural mom, open adoption.

Couldn't bare the thought of never seeing Joy and Addie and Ani and some others on the forums again, so here I am.

G'day all,  i'm a person who has experienced adopteedom in oz. I was lucky and reconnected with my family of origin in 1990 and have experienced the full roller coaster ride of reunion and all the other unique experiences that 'being adopted' brings with it.
I believe the isolation in which we 'adopted one's' tend to inhabit is so damming, anything that helps to break down the barriers for us is to be welcomed with open arms.
A place where we can express how it is for us  who have lived the experience of adoption, without being dumped upon. Now that would be a refreshingly new experience, ime.
I believe Australia's position on adoption is far superior to that of the American's. I cannot relate to what it would be like to live in a country that prevents me from experiencing my basic human rights, ie the right to my OBC and information pertaining to MYSELF.

I'm still a bit of a glutz with all this new fangled technology but hey we all have to start sometime.  I look forward to getting to know y'all and sharing our experiences.
cheers to all responsible for getting this ball rolling.....finally !!!
