Hi all and WELCOME to AFC!   We've been up and running for a little over a week now and have over 70 members!!

I thought I'd start a thread so we can get to know one another and welcome one another to this FABULOUS place of SUPPORT FOR ADOPTEES!!

Without further adieu, I'm Stewie, I'm an adopted person recently reunited with my maternal first family in 2006.

Hi!  Cool

Hi, my name is Addie and I'm an adoptee.

Sorta kinda reunited about 3 years ago.

I'm angry and mean, but only bite non-adoptees.

Hi!  I'm Lillie and I'm a reunited grown up adoptee.  I reunited in 1996 with both sides of my family, all except my bdad, and finally met him too 3 years ago.  My bmom kicked me to the curb for the second time on my birthday in 1997 and we haven't had any contact since.  I have a full brother, half sister, and mainly keep in contact with my bgrandma (bdad's mom).  It's been a rocky ride but we are finding our way.

Welcome everyone to AFC!   Roll Eyes

YAY

I am Joy I am adopted, I have been in reunion with my family for 1,000,000 years, my momma's nym is Justice, she is herer tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

We are twice as nice.

I am passionate about adoptee well-being, there is very little support for sorting through the complexities of adoption in one's life, and adoptees are often ridiculed and pathologized for trying expressing themselves.  I am happy we have this place where that is not allowed.

Sarah here Smiley Adoptee (some would say adoptee-lite). Born in the USA, shuffled off to England, amum adopted me there so I lost all my Americaness along with my first mum, now back in the USA and married to the love of my life and have a 13.5 month old daughter. I am in semi-reunion. First talked to mum on the phone about a year and a half ago. Now talking to siblings, one of which doesn't want anything to do with me even though she's never met me. First mum has her head up her arse. Amum is a nutter. My dad refuses to take any responsibility for any of it, even though it has EVERYTHING to do with his actions. I am in the middle. In my next life, I want to be a doorknob.

Thought I should jump in here for the new people.

Moderately pissed adoptee who, when not thinking about adoption, leads a happy normal well-adjusted life.

Wife of 14 years, mother to a toddler, expectant mom, also have 2 cats and a dog.

Reunited almost 3 years with both sides of family - so far so good.

Estranged from afamily.

I'm Angel.  An adoptee of 34 years.  From Australia.
I cherish my a-family, and love my siblings to the moon and back.
So, regardless of my issues with adoption, I couldn't imagine them not being in my life.Wooohoooo
I'm happy with the way things turned out for me, and I'm at peace with it all.

I met my bmum about 2 weeks ago, for the first time.
I'm going to meet my bio sister soon.

Wooohooooo!

Hi.
I'm also a 34-year-old adoptee (I'll be 35 in June).  I reunited with my firstmom in December 2006.  My firstfather died four years ago.  I never got to meet him.  I have two teenaged half sibs from my mom and two half sisters in their mid to late twenties from my dad.  I am in contact with all my sibs but one right now.

Reunion has kind of knocked me around a bit (ok, it knocks me on my ass regularly but I'm managing).

I'm very lucky to have a fab husband who only rolls his eyes a little when I start getting all emo about adoption and we have two little boys who just make my life glow.

I'm really glad to be here.

But I'm not all serious 'n **** ALL the time.

Supported my daughter's desire to parent her son

Bite me Addie Pray. Yep, I love it!

Not an adoptee.

Not an adopter.

Not a B-thing.

Don't belong at all, anywhere!  Why I am here???

I need support for explaining over and over and OVER again why we are not b-things.  We supported our daughter's decision to decline the "opportunity" to give her son to people who are more deserving than us.  Meaning, OMG, she decided to PARENT. Have gotten lots of validation from first parents.  But the real bullets in my gun come from the non-choice side of the "triad".

G'day G'day!!
I'm a 37 yr old adoptee from Aussie Land.
Found my fam 2 years ago - and they've kept me in limbo ever since.
(haven't told me to go away - but haven't told me much else either)
mmm - maybe I'm just too slow taking the hint? ? ?     Undecided
I'm married and have 3 gorgeous daughters - who like to drive me nuts - often!!!
(it's pretty great to have people just like me!!)
LOVE being here.
Thanks all.
